City Slickers:
A Project of the Multicultural Heritage Centre in Stony Plain, Alberta.

City Slickers is a one day event that took place on September 16th. Introducing Grade 4 and 5 students to the benefits of eating locally grown, wholesome food has never been more relevant.

The fact is the Albertan Farm Families supply us with this food and that Alberta Food Producers help to promote and educate all consumers on the benefits of this industry. That is the purpose for the City Slickers Program-it brings together farmers, producers and consumers to highlight this partnership. The consumers in this case will be approximately 1100 students from the Edmonton, St Albert, and Parkland School Divisions. A more appropriate audience than these young consumers cannot be measured. This year the major sponsor of City Slickers is Agriculture for Life, a partnership of industries dedicated to supporting agricultural education throughout Alberta. For more information on Agriculture for LIfe click here.
